Dr. Lekha Reddy Mettu completed her medical education from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India and Postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in USA. She practiced as Internist in US for over 35 years before retiring from Clinical medicine.
She served as President of India Center of Westchester, New York for over 3 years. She spearheaded the relocation and renovation of the Center and initiated various programs and activities for the service of Indian community, particularly children. She has been a Board member of Shiridi Saibaba Temple in New York. She was instrumental in the acquisition and rebuilding of the Temple.
She believes in early childhood development programs with emphasis on moral and ethical aspects of education. She has been providing financial help for the education of the underprivileged children in India at a personal level.
